I didn’t come to therapy from the outside looking in. I came here from the inside: from locked psychiatric wards, fluorescent-lit waiting rooms, crisis helplines at 3 a.m., from the bureaucratic cold of the mental health system, and from the long, defiant work of staying alive when the world would rather you didn’t take up so much space.

I have lived with bipolar disorder, borderline personality, ADHD, and complex PTSD for most of my life. I know the ways diagnosis can save you, and the ways it can wound. I have survived psychiatric institutionalisation, state violence, and the exhaustion of systems that are supposed to “help” but so often abandon us instead. My life before this work was chaos and constant negotiation — between needing care and fearing it, between rage and tenderness, between not wanting to exist and building a life I could bear.

This history isn’t something I “overcame” — it’s the ground my work stands on. It’s why I practice from a non-pathology, liberation-oriented lens: I don’t see people as broken. I see us as storytellers whose narratives have been interrupted, misnamed, or stolen. In my sessions, we find language, agency and authorship again.

I work with Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Interpersonal Social Rhythm, Somatic Approaches, and Expressive Arts Therapy with poetry, art, and writing. My work is trauma-focused and attachment-informed, centring queer, mad, disabled, and otherwise marginalised lives.

I am also a journalist, poet, and author (Trigger Warning, 2023). I’ve written for The Polis Project, The Caravan Magazine, Scroll, Article 14, The Quint, the National Alliance for Mental Illness (US), The Progressive (US) and more — always about the intersections of mental health, justice, queerness, disability, and state violence. This background means I bring curiosity, deep listening, and political awareness into the therapy room. I believe personal healing and collective liberation are inseparable.
